24 hour comic (August 2003)

The challenge: create a 24-page comic: concept, storyboard, text, drawing, inking, and so on in a period of 24 hours with no pre-planning.

That sounded like fun. So Seppo organized a 24-hour comic party and three of us got together at his house in Oakland and worked from noon until noon the next day, each drawing our own comic. Other friends drifted in and out providing moral support and food to keep us going... and we all made it... tired... delirious... but done.

I finally got around to scanning in my comic, Lapse. I should mention that I can't draw. Really. I never draw. The art's embarassingly bad. But I had fun.

I used a cheap digital camera and some free software to record a time-lapse video of the comic creation in progress. You can see the video here.
